Last week No Man's Sky received a new update for both PC and PS4, updating the game to version 1.38. It's not a super update like Atlas Rises, but it does make several changes, fixes, and tweaks, the most notable of which is changing how the save mechanics work. Now you can access five save-game slots, usable in any game mode, and each save-game will have two sub-slots, allowing for a manual save and an automatic save.

The update also makes the temperature range on dead planets more varied, determines in-flight weather effect based on height, adds "exotic" audio for AI ships, and makes stock levels independent to each vendor. On top of these and other changes, version 1.38 also fixes several bugs and errors.

You can read the full patch notes here if you're interested. Is this a welcome patch?
