Level-5 has big plans for western markets for the next two years, as there's more coming apart from Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy; Yokai Watch 2: Physic Specters; and Ni no Kuni 2. Now the company is looking to expand further into 2018 and 2019, including old and new IPs.
Thanks to a chat between Simon Waldron, senior vice president of marketing and licensing, and License! Global magazine, we've learned that Level-5 is making another entry in the Layton series that will be released in late summer 2018. The new campaign also includes some animated products and "experimental events", and this could be the game that brings the series to Nintendo Switch.
The magazine report talks about crossover content, and doesn't forget other projects created by Level-5, mentioning Inazuma Eleven, that's being rebuilt, and also Yo-kai Watch. The last IP from the mind of Akihiro Hino is called The Snack World, and this adventure game arrived in Japan last summer. Now, they are "looking ahead to 2018 and 2019, Level-5 hopes to introduce the brand to its European partners in order to develop a robust consumer products program".
