It feels like the Mech genre is going through something of a renaissance at the moment, and the new titles just keep on coming. The latest to arrive is Mechwarrior Tactics, a hexagonal strategy game from Roadhouse Interactive, and it's now in closed beta.
As is increasingly the way, access to the closed beta can be guaranteed/purchased by signing up for a "Founder's Program". There's various levels of investment (details of which can be garnered from the official website), with additional content and in-game currency handed out to those who stump up the cash.
"MechWarrior Tactics is a game deeply rooted and inspired by the original and cherished BattleTech tabletop games. It's important for us to bring to life the essence of the BattleTech experience for fans and we're looking forward to their valuable feedback."
"This is truly a project where the Closed Beta will be one, long conversation with the fanbase ensuring that we are creating an experience which captures the magic, excitement and flavor of the BattleTech universe," said the game's director, Chris Cleroux.
