US NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella shared new findings on the software sales of Nintendo's latest hybrid console. According to the market research analyst, physical Switch games sell good enough to indicate the Switch might have the strongest software sales of any Nintendo console since the start of the recording in 1995.
We have to keep a few things in mind before as we process this information: First of all, the time frame of Switch's software sales started early March and has still a couple of months to go. 1995 was the strongest year until now because the market research group NPD started to collect data in this particular year.
Piscatella wrote "[Software] sales are on pace" so he is actually mentioning, that the Switch will exceed the prior software sales, if this growth continues. Although he even adds" by a fairly large margin".
Last but not least; his claim excludes digital software sales which to date is a very strong contributor for almost every publisher in the market. As the digital market isn't included, it is very likely Piscatellas claim actually might be true already.
DO you own a Switch and if so what games do you own?
Thanks, NeoGAF.
