Avatar still remains the top grossing movie of all time, and therefore it's quite baffling that it's taken Disney and director James Cameron this long to begin production on the planned sequels.
Well, that's mainly due to the fact that Cameron and the team will be shooting and producing four (!) sequels at the same time, and now, production on this monumental task has begun.
Deadline reports, that production has begun today in Manhattan Beach, and the project has a reported budget of over $1 billion.
This sounds like an astronomical figure, but reports indicate that the Lord of the Rings, which had a similar setup cost to shoot simultaneously.
Where do you hope the Avatar universe goes from here?
