Crytek releases major CryEngine 5.4 update

There's a whole list of features coming.

Crytek might be in financial troubles, with the CryEngine having a hard time convincing developers, but the German company keeps updating their toolset nonetheless, and this week they have announced update 5.4 that bring a couple of new features and some improvements to the engine.

Substance integration; several terrain features that allow for the blending and integration of separate objects into the terrain mesh; support to the 3D graphics Vulkan API that enables developers to have high-performance real-time 3D graphics applications with balanced CPU/GPU usage; "Extended Detail Bending" toggle, found in the vegetation shader; a comprehensive list of predefined particle effects; new Anti-Aliasing techniques; and object linking are among the new features, and if you want to know how to get your hands on CryEngine 5.4 and see some more details, visit the official website.
