If you played collectible card games during the 90's, the chances are good that you'll remember Doom Trooper (based on Mutant Chronicles) fondly. It competed mainly with Magic the Gathering and managed to get quite the following in many countries thanks to well thought out rules and absolutely stunning artwork from - among others - Paul Bonner.

If you didn't play it or just miss those days, we have soom good news for you. Doom Trooper is actually making a digital comeback. Secret Cow Level founder Justin Reynard (Fallout: New Vegas, Alpha Protocol, Dungeon Siege III) has gotten the rights to the IP and together with Cabinet Entertainment and original designer Bryan Winter, he is now reviving the game.

This incarnation of Doom Trooper will be crowdfunded starting September 25 on Kickstarter with a 30-day campaign. A beta will also be launched later this year, and you can already sign up for access on Doomtroopergame.com.

Do you remember Doom Trooper and do you think there is room for yet another digital collectible card game?

Thanks, Medium.com.
