We suspect that some of you have been buying video games and/or related merchandise from Toys 'R' Us (they have a huge selection of Lego Dimensions, Skylanders and similar toys-to-life games) over the years, but if so you may have done so for the last time.

The retail chain is about to file for bankruptcy in the US and Canada, as the company has a huge debt to deal with, according to Bloomberg, who expects this might happen as soon as today.

The reason for the big debt is a declining interest from customers to visit major retailers, mainly due to online competition (Amazon is cited in the report), although perhaps it is also up to Toys 'R' Us to adapt to the times instead of focusing on outside factors, especially with more than 1,600 stores worldwide, and more than 60,000 employees to consider.

It's not clear what would happen to stores based outside of the US and Canada as the company looks to restructure its debt and hopefully continue. If the worst was to happen, would you miss Toys 'R' Us?
