The upcoming Star Wars film The Last Jedi is creeping ever closer, and during a promotional event for the film in Japan, director Rian Johnson has confirmed that actor and friend Joseph Gordon-Levitt will have a voice role in the project, as reported by Star Wars News Net.

This news comes courtesy of a tweet by Premier Report who was at the event, and isn't a huge surprise considering Gordon-Levitt has appeared in Johnson's films in the past. We have no idea what role he'll have, though, as the voice role could mean he plays anything from an alien to a droid or anything in between.

In another interview Johnson also revealed that the film is almost ready, so it's a good time for Star Wars fans to get excited. What role would you like to see Gordon-Levitt have?
