Fast Travel Games, is a Stockholm-based VR developer set up by a number of Swedish games industry veterans including CEO Oskar Burman, who most recently set up Rovio in Sweden, and prior to that has spent time at UDS, Avalanche Studios, and EA Easy Studios, has gotten a new round of investments totalling $2.1 million to help fund their first game and strengthen the studio.

"While still in its infancy, virtual reality is becoming a platform where consumers can play and engage with games like never before," said Oskar Burman, Fast Travel Games' CEO and co-founder / ex-head of studio of Rovio Stockholm. "We are excited to have these prominent Nordic investors by our side as we strengthen our team and expand upon our ability to bring these experiences to life for players."

The first game the studio is working on is an action-adventure and the effort is led by Mirror's Edge Catalyst design director and Fast Travel Games co-founder Erik Odeldahl. The game is targeted for release on all major VR platforms. The plan is now to grow the company to twice the size in the next year.
