When Microsoft announced Xbox One S and Project Scorpio last summer they didn't make any secret that the original Xbox One would be phased out. And after manufacturing stopped a few months back (we doubt many units were produced in the last year), it is now no longer on sale on the UK or US Microsoft stores. The British store lists is as out of stock, whereas the US page has simply ceased to exist.
The introduction of Xbox One and the way it skewed towards something other than a video game console first is an issue that Microsoft has been forced to deal with ever since its unveiling, and perhaps we shouldn't feel all bad that it's no longer available.
How will you remember the original Xbox One?
