There's been a lot of discussion and a little outrage at Bungie for limiting Destiny 2 to 30 frames-per-second, and the devs have finally commented on the matter themselves as, speaking to Edge in issue #310 (via WCCFTech), project lead Mark Noseworthy explained that the CPU is instead being used on having six simultaneous players, large open spaces with up to 30 AI, dropships, and vehicles coming in.
"Could we make a game at 60FPS? Yes, but the space would be smaller, it would be less cooperative, and there'd be fewer monsters to shoot. That's not the game we want to make."
He went on to say that he feels Bungie is offering players an experience they can't get anywhere else, and that they don't feel held back by the technological limitations.
