According to reports, Ubisoft has been engaged in lengthy discussions regarding taking control of some of THQ's most valuable assets, and are amongst the frontrunners to secure a potentially lucrative deal.

A source close to MCV has suggested that Ubisoft are now just waiting until THQ are forced into the sale of key assets, before cherry-picking some of the struggling publishers prized IPs.

Mentioned in the report are popular franchises such as Saints Row, Company of Heroes, Darksiders and Homefront. It's also noted that WWE and Warhammer licenses could also be up for grabs, two established IPs that would look good in any publisher's portfolio.

Could the WWE license be heading to Ubisoft?
