Sony have always been strong in mainland Europe and this generation is no exception. SCEE have announced that they reach 30 million PS3 units in sales for Europe and PAL regions (Middle East, Australia) on December 17.
SCEE president Jim Ryan, added the following statement to the announcement:
"This is a major milestone for us and clearly shows just how popular the PlayStation brand and products are within Europe and the PAL territories."
"We are really pleased with the success of the PS3 system over the last six years, and are committed to continuing our support of the platform with high quality products and titles that are of the caliber that PlayStation fans have come to expect."
If you consider the fact that Playstation 3 recently reached 70 million in worldwide sales it's easy to see how important Europe is to the company, and typically Europe has a longer tail when it comes to end of generation sales.
