Indie support is one step closer to Xbox One X, as Unity has announced that Unity 3D Engine and toolset now offers full support for the new console. This means that specific functions of the platform such as 4K resolution and HDR image are accessible for licensed developers.
"Taking advantage of the increased power and 4K HDR output of the Xbox One X is as easy as changing some quality settings," the company said in a blog post about Unity 2017.1, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz. Another important thing to note is that Unity Engine lets developers deploy content to the Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X at the same time.
"Unity's Xbox team is working hard to improve our tools and technology so that developers get the best experience on all consoles in the Xbox One family," Unity adds. "We look forward to more developers joining the Unity on Xbox One community and providing feedback."
Do you expect many Unity developers to take full advantage of the Xbox One X's power?
