Steam Direct replaced Steam Greenlight earlier this year, on June 13, and since that date over 1,000 new games have made their way to Steam, as revealed by data from ICO CEO Thomas Bidaux on on Twitter.

In the last seven days alone in fact, 215 games have been released through the service, and in the graph below you can see that there's been a noticeable increase in games released, including both early access and out of early access.

There's no telling for sure what the reason is behind the increase, but back when Steam Direct was announced, Valve did predict that the initial surge would happen, but also that it would die down as well.
