We Happy Few has been in early access for a while now, but now developer Compulsion Games has announced that they are releasing their last public update before final release, which will drop on August 16, also coming with a big price increase for the game.
The game currently costs £22.99 on Steam, but the announcement says this will increase to $50.99 USD on August 16 (no UK price was given, but this equates to around £40.00).
"Since we launched our Kickstarter and released the game on Early Access, We Happy Few has been priced at US$29.99," the post reads. "We have never put it on sale because we believe it isn't fair for someone to get the game at a lower price than a Kickstarter backer or an Early Access backer while the game is still in development. Since 2015, we have made clear that the price would increase as we approach the final release, and that time has - finally - come. On August 16, the price for the game will become US$50.99. "
As for the update, this will be called The Life in Technicolour update, which will feature new joy effects, a brand new UI, an AI rework, and more, with more details and an update video coming on August 16.
Will you be getting it before the price increase?
