Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is Valve's extremely popular PC shooter, and one weapon in the game, the Tec-9, is getting nerfed as part of a new update 1.35.9.7-rc1, the full details of which can be found here.

Specifically, the update changes the gun so as to emphasise aiming while retaining the high mobility of the firearm, so there's slightly better accuracy when taking a single shot, and reduced accuracy when rapid firing. Also, magazine and reserve ammo have been reduced to 18 and 90 respectively.

This is part of what the patch notes say are "initial changes to pistols with the goal of emphasising skillful use of the weapons, beginning with the Tec-9," but that's not all that's changed. The existing camera height restriction has been extended, for instance, so that it can "include cases where a player is in the air, preventing the first-person camera from rising above their third-person head." Players will also now make a landing sound if they un-crouch while crouch jumping, and several inconsistencies where sounds weren't broadcast when a player was occluded by a wall have also been fixed. For Linux players there's also one fewer process when launching the game.
