The demand for the Nintendo Switch is continuing on, with many fans still eager to get their hands on Nintendo's latest console, and this has led to big lines in Japan this past weekend. After receiving new shipments of the console during the past two weeks, this weekend a record for the longest line to purchase a Nintendo Switch has been reported in Tokyo.

The Japanese website SwitchSoku reported (as translated by NintendoSoup) that around 5,000 people were lined up outside a Bic Camera store on Saturday in Tokyo, followed by a line of 5,000 people the next day in Kawasaki, and 3,000 on Sunday back in Tokyo. In regards to this last line of 3,000, however, only 10% of the people in line were able to get their hands on the console.

Because of the high demand retailers held lotteries over the weekend too, which involves customers gettings a ticket which, if they were lucky, gave them a chance to buy the console.

Would you queue up with thousands of people for a console?
