It was only last week that we reported on the Vive Standalone, an upcoming VR headset that ditches the cables and the mobile device slot in favour of an onboard processor. Originally it was thought that the headset was only heading to China, but it turns out that it will also launch internationally sometime this year.
A company rep confirmed as much to VRFocus, revealing that the Vive Standalone would launch in the west, the only difference of significance coming in regards to software distribution. The headset will apparently launch in 2017, although a price and specific release date have yet to be confirmed.
