Still a big fan of games like Skate 3? You might even like Tony Hawk: Shred? Either way, EA CEO John Riccitiello thinks that the sport has "run its course" and will not generate the same kind of excitement as it used to.

In an interview with Kotaku, Riccitiello said "When it comes to action sports, I think that's going to be an an ongoing exciting genre. But at least for the level of excitement out there, skateboarding seems to have run its course as the representative example in that broader genre."

But Riccitiello is more oprimistic about the music genre, which has steadily been dropping sales since its astronomical break through success a few years ago. He thinks it might recover somehow - "I don't know exactly how. It could be based on some new innovation. Maybe it all becomes dance-based."

He also took the time to explain a bit about his "falling knife"-comment he made a few days ago, when talking about Harmonix. "They've got the leading dance product and maybe the leading game full stop on Kinect and the question was what investors might be thinking about it. [I said t]he nervous investor would be worried about the decline in the music sector feeling like a falling knife. The only part of that conversation that got reported was the 'falling knife' part.
