Austin Wintory received a Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media Grammy nomination for his Journey score last night as the Grammy nominations were officially announced.
Austin Wintory responded with a tweet:
"Well I don't really have words right now .... I just got a Grammy nomination for #JourneyPS3 ..."
The first ever video game music nominated for a Grammy was Christopher Tin's Baba Yetu from Civilization IV that won the Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists Grammy in 2011. But perhaps Wintory's nomination is even more prestigious as he was nominated alongside Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Trent Reznor, Howard Shore, and Ludvic Bource.
