New version of Unity engine is now available

Unity 2017.1 marks the start of a "new cycle".

The world's most popular engine for indie developers, Unity, has received its newest version, 2017.1, and according to the company, this release "marks the debut of the new Unity 2017 cycle", and features a "strong focus on helping teams work better and enabling success." This new version sports improved graphics, better runtime performance, and features a multiplatform option with a "build once, deploy anywhere" foundation.

"Unity 2017.1 is available to all users with an active subscription plan (Personal, Plus and Pro). If you have Unity 5 perpetual license(s), Unity 5.6 was the last update in the 5.x cycle. To continue receiving all updates, go to the Unity Store and choose the plan that fits your needs," the press release says.
