It's not a complete surprise, considering Ben Affleck is no longer directing The Batman, but new director Matt Reeves has now confirmed he will be using a new script for a new story, ditching Ben Affleck's own script. The War of the Planet of the Apes director also added, while talking to MTV, that he's "excited about it", and that it's "going to be really cool".
Although Ben Affleck is no longer the director or screenwriter for The Batman, he is confirmed to be returning as the caped crusader and Bruce Wayne. As for Joe Manganiello, who was cast as Deathstroke for the Affleck version of the film, it is currently unknown if he, or his character, will be in the new version.
