Among the many new bits of information revealed about Splatoon 2 today, we now also know a bit more about amiibo functionality as, by tapping a Splatoon amiibo, players can save not only control settings but also gear and equipment to an amiibo.

In regards to what's compatible, both new Splatoon series and legacy Splatoon amiibos work with the game, and can also reward players with exclusive gear when tapped. On top of this, we also found out a few more minor details, such as the inclusion of a menu that lets players change the sensitivity for controls separately for TV and handheld mode, as well as the ability to post drawings straight to social media.
