In Splatoon 2's Direct livestream today more detail was given about customisation in the game, whether it be in regards to gear, clothing, or abilities, something that will no doubt be very important to many players when the game releases later this month.
In terms of customisation, things like hair style, skin tone, and eye colour can all be adjusted when creating a character, and you can then kit them out with shirts, shoes, and hats. Nintendo were keen to mention the new options that are given in this sequel, so you don't look "so 2015".
To find these new clothing options you'll have to head to the Inkopolis Galleria, where there's gear and weapon shops aplenty. Ye Olde Cloth Shoppe, for instance, is run by a jellyfish called Jelfonzo, and provides t-shirts and jackets, and a spider crab called Bisk runs the shoe shop Shella Fresh (and seems to be wearing a lot of shoes himself). Also, Flow the sea slug helps players get headwear at Headspace, and weapons are provided by horseshoe crab Sheldon, who runs Ammo Knights. If food's more your deal, Crusty Sean's dive can be visited to receive more points and in-game currency from battle too.
Equipping gear doesn't only mean looking fresh, but also gives special abilities too, and additional abilities can even appear as you continue to use this gear in battle. Murch the sea urchin can freshen up gear with abilities such as reducing ink consumption or increasing speed, and there's many abilities you can choose from.
Is customisation an important thing for you?
