Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was maybe the biggest and nicest surprise to come out of E3 2017 (even though we saw it coming several months ahead of our visit to LA). The fusion of worlds and characters, the strategic gameplay, and the passion of the development team at Ubisoft Milan all impressed us, as you can read in our hands-on preview.

The game has been listed on the European eShop, in the process revealing a couple of interesting details. First up, the file size of the digital version is only 2.3GB, which is indie-like in terms of size. It's true that we haven't seen any cinematic videos or in-game conversations at all, which may well account for the lightweight file size.

The second interesting fact to emerge; amiibo support has finally been confirmed, and this news comes at the same time as confirming two-person multiplayer and Pro Controller support.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will feature four kingdoms, but we don't know exactly how big are they or if there are any other game modes besides the story campaign. We'll just have to wait until it lands on August 29 on Nintendo Switch to find out.
