Despite PlayStation 4 never reaching huge sales figures in Japan, Sony's platform - launched in November 2013 - keeps on selling units successfully in the rest of the world. The result is an unprecedented success, and it turns out that the console has sold almost more than the PS3 and Xbox 360 combined, in the same period.
Niko Partners' analyst Daniel Ahmad displayed the data in two graphs, where he compared the sales of the three consoles in their first fourteen quarters on the market.
In that selected period, the PlayStation 3 sold 35.7 million units, the Xbox 360 sold 30.2m, while the PS4 sold 60 million (the latter was updated a few weeks ago). Another milestone for Sony's platform that isn't showing any signs of slowing down, as there's plenty more exciting releases coming soon.
Can you see the PlayStation 4 continuing to grow, perhaps even reaching the heights of the PlayStation 2? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
