It's that time of year again. Digital retailers everywhere are lowering their prices so as to entice us into parting with our hard earned cash. Sure money is tight at the moment, but at these prices perhaps it's worth considering scaling back those plans for Christmas.
The obvious place to start is the Steam Autumn Sale which runs until November 26. As usual there's a mix of discounts available, ranging from reductions on major releases, to bargains from the selection of indie games on the site.
Max Payne 3 is now only £7.49, and Telltale's The Walking Dead is £10.49 at the moment. There's also regular flash sales popping up here and there. At the time of writing Fable III is £7.49.
Unlike Steam, Green Man Gaming are selling Far Cry 3. They're also hosting a Winter Wonderland sale. Type in the following code for additional discount: GMG25-G4VDR-0ZL4Q
That voucher will also work on previously reduced games. There's 50% off Dishonored at the moment, and if you deduct 25% off the £14.99 it costs to download, you're looking at a pretty substantial discount.
Gamersgate are also running a Thanksgiving Sale. Amongst the discounts on offer there's 75% off the Tropico 4 Collection, and the Sega Genesis Classic Collection 1 is a mere £2.20.
GOG.com are offering a slightly different promotion, with gamers able to take their pick of five games from a large collection, and paying just $10. The list features titles like Torchlight and Alan Wake's American Nightmare.

GameStop's online PC Download Centre, Impulsedriven.com, has plenty of items going cheap in their sale. Transformers: War for Cybertron catches the eye at £3.13. Gamefly has sale prices that rival those of many of the larger retailers, and Gamesplanet.com are also offering several special offers.
There's loads of great games going cheap at the moment, and if you've been eyeing up one of the big releases to hit the market in recent weeks, now might be the perfect time to pick it up.
