HMV's Oxford Street store in London is set to host to the official launch event for Nintendo's new console, Wii U.

The retailer has channeled extra stock to their flagship story, to ensure that there's a strong turnout on the night, with gamers still in with a chance of picking up a console at launch.

Doors will open at 11pm on November 29, and the first 100 people to turn up and queue will bag a copy of New Super Mario Bros. U, and another game of their choice. Those turning up after will receive a "goody bag" or a voucher. Zombi U, Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros. U will be demonstrated to customers as they wait for the console's launch at midnight.

Nintendo UK's Shelly Pearce added: "We can't wait to get the Wii U into the hands of our fans in the UK and are delighted to be partnering with HMV on this exciting night. Not only will those that come down to HMV be amongst the first in the country to get their hands on the console but there will be lots of opportunities to try the games and to find out more about what makes Wii U such a unique new console."
