We thought that the augmented reality phenomenon was fading with the popularity decline of Pokémon Go, but it seems like we were wrong. During the last few days, Mario has become the new favourite of augmented reality after a video showed the designer of this street Super Mario exploring a Central Park alley; jumping, bouncing on the Goombas, and walking around the famous green tubes.
The inventor of the game is Abhishek Singh. Thanks to the Microsoft HoloLens, which is often used for professional needs, he was able to adapt the first level of Super Mario Bros to everyday life. We're still a few months from the release of Super Mario Odyssey, but the American developer has pushed the 3D further, although in a much more pixelized way we must admit. Can we expect a partnership with Nintendo and production for the general public? Probably not, but in the meantime you can view Singh's experience through the demo video here.
