Chris Roberts quest to bring back the space sim with Star Citizen is off to a great start. In fact, the campaign managed to break the previous crowdfunding record for video games set by Obsidian Entertainment's Project Eternity. A total of $6,238,563 was pledged through Kickstarter and the Roberts Space Industries site.
Some of the final stretch goals reached include Star Citizen getting 100 star systems at launch, and full orchestral scores for Star Citizen/Squadron 42.
It's going to be interesting to see what $6 million in crowdfunds results in down the line as Star Citizen is one seriously ambitious project.
