With the occasion of E3 2017, Konami announced today that Metal Gear Survive - a spin-off of the popular Metal Gear series that's set in an alternate universe - has been delayed. The title will now land at some point in early 2018, a disappointment for those who expected the game this year.

Mixing the already popular action-stealth gameplay of the series with new exploration and survival mechanics, Metal Gear Survive will put players in a mysterious adventure split between a single-player campaign and a co-op mode for up to four players. Players will also be able to customise their characters, create their own weapons and equipment, as well as create barricades to help teammates defend themselves from hordes of enemies.

Metal Gear Survive is expected on PC, Xbox One and PS4 in early 2018, but any official launch date has not yet been announced. You can take a look at the new screenshots below.
