Backwards compatibility was a highly anticipated feature for the Xbox One, especially since it was confirmed long before Sony got their act together and implemented a similar feature via PSNow on PS4. Despite this, according to a tweet from Xbox CMO Mike Nichols, 50% of Xbox One owners have tried out the backwards compatibility feature.
This news follows Sony's global sales chief, Jim Ryan, saying that even though the feature is often requested, it's never actually used that much.
Nichols went on to say that over 508 million hours of gaming have been enjoyed through backwards compatibility, and Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, followed it up by saying there's "usually one or two backwards compatibility games in our daily top played games. Usage remains high.
Perhaps most surprising is that this ratio hasn't increased in the last six months, as Phil Spencer announced just before last Christmas that the ratio was around 50% then too.
There are some fantastic games on the Xbox backwards compatibility program. What games are you waiting for before you delve in? Let us know below.
