It's become a tradition in Call of Duty games that players create a class of their own, selecting weapons, attachments, upgrades, and abilities to suit their playstyle, however, studios like Treyarch have been experimenting with that system in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 where they introduced heroes, a sort of template to go with your own customisations and adaptations.
Now we know that Sledgehammer wants to take this even further with Call of Duty: WWII via the so-called "Divisions" system, as director Glen Schofield unveiled in a post on the PlayStation Blog, explaining that players will create a character from one of five iconic WWII Divisions. Each of these has "different combat training, division training, and weapons skills."
Schofield sadly didn't elaborate any further, but promised that Divisions will "fundamentally redefine how players invest in their multiplayer soldier career."
We hope to see more from Call of Duty: WWII at E3 next week. Does Divisions sound like a good system, or would you prefer the simplicity of something like World at War?
