We're still a few days away from the annual Call of Duty iteration's multiplayer reveal, but details are slowly but surely coming from the Sledgehammer Games camp. Yesterday it was announced that the zombies mode will take inspiration from the studio heads' time working on Dead Space and will feature a back story based on real events, and information from the latest issue of Edge magazine reveals that the multiplayer won't be held to areas seen in the single-player experience.

"Such environmental storytelling will also feature in the multiplayer component, which in addition to revisiting battlefields featured in the singleplayer campaign will also expand to different fronts," said the quote from Edge (via Reddit).

"A stop on Condrey and Schofield's research trip informed one such multiplayer map, but with the mode's finer details being held back for E3 - and a beady eyed Activision rep sat in the interview room - specifics elude us," Edge continued.

The single-player predominantly takes place in Europe, as is expected during WWII, but what historic locations do you want to see the multiplayer visit? Let us know in the comments.
