Sledgehammer Games is the third team in charge of the main Call of Duty series, but Activision set up this studio with in-company talent. Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, the leaders of this studio, previously worked at Visceral Games at the time the studio made Dead Space, and they just told Edge that we'll notice this in Call of Duty: WWII.

They said before that CoD: WWII will reflect the war realistically through the main campaign, but this will also apply to the zombie mode. "There's some really authentic stuff in there", said Schofield (via Reddit), adding that "there's back story that's based on real events." According to Condrey, the mode will be "unique to our Dead Space signature".

The Sledgehammer duo also said that they traveled through Europe during winter as they wanted "to get a sense of, 'What does it feel like to be in Normandy or Aachen at ten below with snow coming down?'". They also visited a concentration camp for the same purpose.

With a bit of Dead Space flavour added to the mix, might this be the best Zombies to date?
