Twelve days ago we learned that Square Enix wants to sell IO Interactive, the creators of the Hitman series. One of the main reasons for this is that the studio costs way more to maintain than the latest Hitman earned. This isn't exactly a statement potential buyers want to hear either, so the Danish outfit has had to make some difficult decisions.

The studio has just announced that they've laid off an unknown number of their staff to "be better equipped for our future adventures". They're doing their very best to take care of everyone affected by this decision, so hopefully, these talented people won't be without a job for too long. We're also hopeful that this will attract more potential buyers so that we haven't seen the last of the studio and its games.
