Nintendo have been doing tremendously well this generation, both on the portable market with Nintendo DS in its various iterations and on the home market with Wii. But things aren't as peachy these days as Nintendo reported a loss of $24.7 million. The main reasons for this was a strong yen, and the declining interest for Wii.
Still Nintendo reports rather impressive hardware sales overall as the Wii has reached shipments of 75.9 million units per September 30, and the Nintendo DS managed an astounding 135.6 million units. Nintendo's calculations predicts 17.5 million sold Wii units and 23.5 million DS sold during this financial year (ending March 31, 2011).
