The Mila Jovovich-fronted Resident Evil film franchise has been running for many, many years now, but recently it concluded with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. However, it seems as though the series will be getting a reboot with a new director and a new cast.

At Cannes Film Festival, the chairman of Constantin Film, Martin Moszkowicz, confirmed to Variety that the series will be rebooted, and a total of six new films are now in development.

There are no details on potential stars or directors, but Paul W.S Anderson, who wrote and directed the last four films, apparently won't be involved, as he's hard at work on the upcoming Monster Hunter adaptation.

Who would you like to see as a part of the new Resident Evil film franchise? Can someone other than Mila Jovovich take on the role of Alice?
