It appears as if Nintendo has soft-launched a new Pokémon via the Italian AppStore. According to TouchArcade a game called Pokémon: Magikarp Jump has been soft-launched in the boot-shaped country. We've previously seen evidence of a game called Splash Magikarp and presumably this is the same game. It appears to be a pet simulation game where you'll collect, feed, and train your Magikarp. The often ridiculed and rather useless (until you evolve them, anyway) Pokémon have something of a cult status, so while it is a little surprising they're getting their own game, it also makes sense.
We have no idea when Magikarp Jump may get its full global release, but for now Italians can enjoy it.
