We've heard quite a few Overwatch rumours as the game has been closing in on its one-year anniversary, as there's been whispers of a new event, a Game of the Year Edition, and more. It's helpful, then, that Blizzard has finally decided to confirm some of these rumours.
First of all, they've confirmed that there will be an "Anniversary Event" which will start on May 23 and last through until June 12. That's all they want to tell us about it right now, but expect a lot more information in a few days.
The rumours of a Game of the Year Edition were also true, and this will be available digitally on May 23, including the following:
• Ten Loot Boxes
• A bunch of new skins, including Blackwatch Reyes, Strike-Commander Morrison, Overgrown Bastion, Security Chief Pharah, and Slipstream Tracer.
• Tracer in Heroes of the Storm
• Baby Winston Pet in World of Warcraft
• Mercy's Wings in Diablo III
• In-game portraits of Tracer, Reaper, Pharah, Winston, Bastion, and Soldier: 76 in StarCraft II
• A Hearthstone card
There will also be a treat for those of you who haven't bought the game yet, as we're getting a free weekend from May 26 to 29.
Lastly, Blizzard has released this "Thank you, Heroes" video that reflects on the year we've had with Overwatch. Which part of the game has been your favourite?
