Apple, makers of Mac/iPhone/iPod/etc, have a lot of money. A lot. And no debt. With $51 billion dollars in the bank, CEO Steve Jobs said that they are saving their money for one or many "strategic possibilities" in the future. In other words, saving up for some big acquisitions.
So let's start speculating! Oh, seems like the analysts beat us to that. Analyst firm Kaufmann Brothers thinks that Apple might be considering buying Netflix, Facebook or Electronic Arts. Financial magazine Barron's thinks that they might be looking at picking up Adobe, Disney or Sony.
Sony is reportedly worth $40 billion, so at least Apple would be able to afford to buy them. And the market seems to like the idea.
