The Xbox Design Labs program for designing your own Xbox controllers goes one step further than simply letting you create a cool-looking controller. Microsoft is encouraging people to design appealing, original colour combinations, and it's doing so by offering rewards if the design proves successful.

Now, people can claim a design and share it through various social networks. If other people buy that particular model, they would then get some money and Xbox Live Credit. There is also a giveaway for all participants to contest, where they can win an Xbox One S or an Alienware gaming laptop.

Lots of hopeful designers are already sharing their creations. You can check them out via hashtag #XboxDesignLab, or you can design your own here.
