THQ Nordic has launched the first closed multiplayer beta for Aquanox: Deep Descent today, running from 17:00 BST / 18:00 CEST today until the same time on Monday May 1.

The beta will feature both Team Deathmatch and 4v4 Deathmatch across two maps, and you can play against both other players and AI opponents as well. This is only the start, too, as THQ Nordic has announced that this is the first in a series of multiplayer betas.

Here's how Aquanox: Deep Descent is described by the press release: "In the near future, the Earth's surface has become uninhabitable. What remains of humankind lives in former mining and research stations, deep below the surface of the sea. Born and raised in the only world we know, the loose network of underwater settlements, torn by the war for resources and dominance between various factions."

Have you got a lucky ticket to enter the beta?
