The Nintendo Switch was only released at the start of March (March 3, to be precise), and now Nintendo has revealed its financial results of the fiscal year ending on March 31, which finally provides a lifetime sales number for the Switch.

First off, Nintendo has managed to ship 2.74 million Switch units during the month of March, and the company is expecting to ship an additional 10 million units between April 2017 and March 2018. Additionally, Nintendo has shifted 5.46 million software copies during March, and further expect to ship 35 million copies of Switch games between April 1 2017 and March 31 2018.

The Nintendo 3DS sits at 66.12 million units sold as of March 31, and there's an expectation to ship an additional six million units in the coming fiscal year. Furthermore, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has sold a combined 3.84 million units across its two versions (Wii U and Switch).

Nintendo itself has also seen a profit of 489.0 billion yen against net sales of 29.3 billion yen, which they describe as "favourable." How well can the Switch perform moving forward?
