In a move that may seem a little confusing, Paradox Interactive have licensed the right to make a game based on Mutant Chronicles: Doomtrooper from Paradox Entertainment. The two companies used to be one, but Paradox Entertainment is these days purely a license holder (Conan rights among other things), while Paradox Interactive are focusing on games publishing and development.

"With the launch of our Paradox Connect initiative, an opportunity to create something great with the Mutant Chronicles: Doomtrooper brand has surfaced and we immediately sought to license it," said Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive."It's exciting to join forces again with Paradox Entertainment to bring a wonderful franchise into the 21st century, online."

"Mutant Chronicles has an incredible fan base that still continues to play games based on this dynamic universe, and Doomtrooper remains one of the favorites. We're excited that a new generation of gamers now can experience the fun and excitement of the game," said Fredrik Malmberg, President and CEO of Paradox Entertainment Inc.

Paradox Interactive promises to bring us more details on the game in the coming months, and some news about it is likely to come out at Paradox Interactive Convention in January.
