German adventure game specialists Daedalic Entertainment has confirmed that Book 1 of Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth will see release in August on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The adaptation of the popular novel (which has sold in excess of 26 million copies) will span three books, each containing 7 chapters. Daedalic call it their biggest and most ambitious game to date. Interestingly, the game will allow players to influence and alter the events of the novel, as you'd expect from this sort of story-driven adventure game, but perhaps not from an adaptation of a novel.
Daedalic also mentioned more details will be shared on Book 2 and 3 during Gamescom, which also, coincidentally, happens to take place in August.
