As reported by PCGamesN, a Reddit user called mynameismunka has provided some calculations about how long it would take to get all the items in Overwatch, including those as a part of the Uprising event, and spoilers: it's a lot.
The average number of loot boxes you'd need to unlock everything including Uprising content is 1,465, according to their maths, or 1,250 without Uprising, but if you translate this into money, it'll cost you $1,172 USD, or £967.
The maths uses The_Tastiest_Tuna's work as well as ourobouros, who estimated the drop rate and credit values for each loot box. Using this, mynameismunka then did their own calculations (excluding player icons, which can't be purchased, as well as the increasing chance of valuable items after you've gone a long time without them), and it breaks down as follows:
With 50-box bundles, which most people serious about getting content will invest in, 1,465 divided by 50 comes to 29.3 bundles, and each of those will set you back $39.99. If you multiply 29.3 by $39.99, then, you arrive at the total of 1,171.707 (rounded to $1,172), with the equivalent calculations coming at £967 here.
This figure of 1,465 is based on an average, however, and could vary drastically in reality. Do these figures surprise you though?
