As well as other things like flight sticks.

A Kickstarter page has been launched for a new project called Vamtor, one that aims to make the use of peripherals such as flight sticks and steering wheels much easier to use on your lap.

"Steering wheels for gaming have been around a while, but to use them effectively you needed a desk or dining room table or dedicated gaming chair, however your big great sounding TV and console are in your lounge where you don't normally have a suitable desk," the Kickstarter page explains. "The coffee table is too low and you can't fit the pedals underneath, so where do you attach them?"

"Vamtor LD10 [the Vamtor's full name] overcomes these problems by providing a portable, configurable universal gaming surface for you to attach your steering wheel, flights sticks or yoke controls too. It lightly straps to your legs and this provides enough support that Vamtor LD10 requires no effort to keep it in place meaning you can enjoy your gaming, all at an affordable price point."

The prototype versions of Vamtor are compatible with Farming Simulator controllers, Saitek's Yoke flight control system, as well as steering wheel peripherals, and will feature pre-drilled holes for "popular steering wheel interfaces." A side desk builds into this as well, which can be fitted with gear sticks for appropriate setups.

The Kickstarter goal is £423,000, and will end on May 28 at 22:00 BST, but if it reaches £700,000, this will allow "a faster manufacturing route which will shorten the delivery schedule."
